World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Serbia beats Moldova 3-0
CHISINAU, Oct. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Serbia defeated Moldova by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Zimbru Stadium in Chisinau.
Serbia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Kostić ('19) and Ivanović ('37). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Serbians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Tadic in the 59th minute.
The result put the Serbians second in Group D with 4 points. Moldova is bottom with no points. In their next game, Serbia will meet third-placed Austria at the Zimbru Stadium on October 9, while Moldova will face Ireland.
