World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Wales and Georgia play to a 1-1 draw
CARDIFF, Oct. 9, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Wales tied 1-1 with Georgia (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The Welshs started off well by taking the lead thanks to Welsh midfielder Gareth Bale in the 10th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Georgia with a saving goal from Okriashvili in the 57th minute.
The result put the Welsh top of Group D with 5 points. Georgia is 5th with one point. In their next game, Wales will meet second-placed Serbia at the Cardiff City Stadium on November 12, while Georgia will face Moldova.
