World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Georgia and Moldova tied at 1-1
TBILISI, Nov. 12, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Georgia tied 1-1 with Moldova (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.
The Georgians started off well by taking the lead thanks to Qazaishvili in the 16th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Moldova with a saving goal from Gațcan in the 78th minute.
The result put the Georgians 5th in Group D with 2 points. Moldova is bottom with one point. In their next game, Georgia will meet second-placed Serbia at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena on March 24, while Moldova will face Austria.
