World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Wales and Serbia play to a 1-1 draw
CARDIFF, Nov. 12, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Wales tied 1-1 with Serbia (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Cardiff City Stadium.
The Welshs started off well by taking the lead thanks to Welsh midfielder Gareth Bale in the 30th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Serbia with a saving goal from A. Mitrović in the 86th minute.
The result put the Serbians second in Group D with 8 points. Wales is third with 6 points. In their next game, Serbia will meet Georgia at the Cardiff City Stadium on March 24, while Wales will face Ireland.
