World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Serbia defeats Georgia 3-1
TBILISI, Mar. 24, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Serbia defeated Georgia by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.
Kacharava opened the score in the 6th minute, before seeing Serbia catch up in the 45th minute thanks to Dusan Tadic penalty kick. 1-1 at half time. The Serbians eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by A. Mitrović ('64) and Gaćinović ('86).
The result put the Serbians top of Group D with 11 points. Georgia is 5th with 2 points. In their next game, Serbia will meet third-placed Wales at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena on June 11, while Georgia will face Moldova.
