World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Serbia draw 1-1 with Wales
BELGRADE, Jun. 11, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Serbia tied 1-1 with Wales (halftime: 0-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Red Star Stadium in Belgrade.
The Welshs started off well by taking the lead thanks to Welsh midfielder Aaron Ramsey on penalty in the 35th minute. However, even though they were leading 1-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Serbia with a saving goal from A. Mitrović in the 74th minute.
The result put the Serbians top of Group D with 12 points. Wales is third with 8 points. In their next game, Serbia will meet Moldova at the Red Star Stadium on September 2, while Wales will face Austria.
