World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Serbia beats Moldova 3-0
BELGRADE, Sep. 2, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Serbia defeated Moldova by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Partizan Stadium in Belgrade.
Serbia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Gaćinović ('20) and Kolarov ('30). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Serbians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by A. Mitrović with just 9 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Serbians top of Group D with 15 points. Moldova is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Serbia will meet second-placed Ireland at the Partizan Stadium on September 5, while Moldova will face Wales.
