CARDIFF, Sep. 2, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Wales defeated Austria by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Cardiff City Stadium.
Austria made the Welshs doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Woodburn in the 74th minute.
The result put the Welsh third in Group D with 11 points. Austria is fourth with 8 points. In their next game, Wales will meet Moldova at the Cardiff City Stadium on September 5, while Austria will face Georgia.
