DUBLIN, Sep. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Serbia defeated Ireland by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Aviva Stadium in Dublin.
Ireland made the Serbians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Serbian defender Aleksandar Kolarov in the 55th minute.
The result put the Serbians top of Group D with 18 points. Ireland is third with 13 points. In their next game, Serbia will meet Austria at the Aviva Stadium on October 6, while Ireland will face Moldova.
