World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Austria beats Serbia 3-2
VIENNA, Oct. 6, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Austria defeated Serbia by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 1-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Ernst Happel Stadium in Vienna.
Milivojević opened the score in the 11th minute, before seeing Austria catch up in the 25th minute thanks to Guido Burgstaller. 1-1 at half time. The Austrians eventually won the game in the second period with two more goals by Arnautović ('76) and Schaub ('89).
The result put the Serbians top of Group D with 18 points. Austria is fourth with 12 points. In their last game, Serbia will meet Georgia at the Ernst Happel Stadium on October 9, while Austria will face Moldova.
