TBILISI, Oct. 6, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Wales defeated Georgia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena in Tbilisi.
45 minutes of play and neither the Welshs nor the Georgians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Welsh midfielder Tom Lawrence in the 49th minute.
The result put the Welsh second in Group D with 17 points. Georgia is 5th with 5 points. In their last game, Wales will meet third-placed Ireland at the Boris Paichadze Dinamo Arena on October 9, while Georgia will face Serbia.
