World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Kazakhstan and Poland play to a 2-2 draw
ASTANA, Sep. 4, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Kazakhstan tied 2-2 with Poland (halftime: 0-2), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Astana Arena.
The Poles started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Kapustka ('9) and Lewandowski ('35 on penalty). However, even though they were leading 2-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Kazakhstan with dual goals from Khizhnichenko ('51 and '58.
The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group E with one point. In their next game, Poland will meet group leaders Denmark at the Astana Arena on October 8, while Kazakhstan will face Montenegro.
