World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Romania defeats Armenia 5-0
YEREVAN, Oct. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Romania defeated Armenia by a big score of 5-0 (halftime: 4-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan.
Romania dominated the first half thanks to goals from Stancu ('4 on penalty), Popa ('10), Marin ('12) and Stanciu ('29). Leading 4-0 at the break, the Romanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Chipciu in the 60th minute.
The result put the Romanians top of Group E with 4 points. Armenia is bottom with no points. In their next game, Romania will meet Kazakhstan at the Republican Stadium on October 11, while Armenia will face Poland.
