WARSAW, Oct. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Poland defeated Denmark by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Stadion Narodowy in Warsaw.
Robert Lewandowski scored tripple goals
Poland dominated the first half thanks to goals from Lewandowski ('20, '36 on penalty). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Poles further widened their lead in the second period with another goal by Lewandowski in the 48th minute.
The result put the Pole third in Group E with 4 points. Denmark is fourth with 3 points. In their next game, Poland will meet Armenia at the Stadion Narodowy on October 11, while Denmark will face Montenegro.
