World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Armenia defeats Montenegro 3-2
YEREVAN, Nov. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Armenia defeated Montenegro by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 0-2), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan.
Montenegro had started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Kojašević ('36) and Jovetić ('38). Trailing 2-0 at half time, the Armenians nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (A. Grigoryan '50, Haroyan '74 and Ghazaryan '90).
The result put the Montenegrins top of Group E with 7 points. Armenia is 5th with 3 points. In their next game, Montenegro will meet second-placed Poland at the Republican Stadium on March 26, while Armenia will face Kazakhstan.
