World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Poland beats Romania 3-0
BUCHAREST, Nov. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Poland defeated Romania by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the National Arena in Bucharest.
Robert Lewandowski scored dual goals
Poland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by midfielder Kamil Grosicki in the 11th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Poles further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Lewandowski '83, '90/penalty).
The result put the Pole top of Group E with 10 points. Romania is fourth with 5 points. In their next game, Poland will meet second-placed Montenegro at the National Arena on March 26, while Romania will face Denmark.
