YEREVAN, Mar. 26, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Armenia defeated Kazakhstan by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan.
45 minutes of play and neither the Armenians nor the Kazakhs have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with goals by Mkhitaryan ('73) and Özbiliz ('75).
The result put the Armenians fourth in Group E with 6 points. Kazakhstan is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Armenia will meet second-placed Montenegro at the Republican Stadium on June 10, while Kazakhstan will face Denmark.
