World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Denmark defeats Kazakhstan 3-1
ALMATY, Jun. 10, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Denmark defeated Kazakhstan by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Central Stadium in Almaty.
Denmark dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by N. Jørgensen in the 27th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Danes further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Eriksen '51/penalty and Dolberg '81).
The result put the Dane second in Group E with 10 points. Kazakhstan is bottom with 2 points. In their next game, Denmark will meet group leaders Poland at the Central Stadium on September 1, while Kazakhstan will face Montenegro.
