BUCHAREST, Sep. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Romania defeated Armenia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the National Arena in Bucharest.
Armenia made the Romanians doubt themselves for forty-five minutes. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Romanian midfielder Alexandru Maxim in stoppage time.
The result put the Romanians fourth in Group E with 9 points. Armenia is 5th with 6 points. In their next game, Romania will meet second-placed Montenegro at the National Arena on September 4, while Armenia will face Denmark.
