World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Montenegro beats Romania 1-0
PODGORICA, Sep. 4, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Montenegro defeated Romania by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at the Podgorica City Stadium.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was decided in the second period with a saving goal by Montenegrin forward Stevan Jovetić in the 75th minute.
The result put the Montenegrins second in Group E with 16 points. Romania is fourth with 9 points. In their next game, Montenegro will meet second-placed Denmark at the Podgorica City Stadium on October 5, while Romania will face Kazakhstan.
