World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Poland defeats Armenia 6-1
YEREVAN, Oct. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Poland defeated Armenia by a big score of 6-1 (halftime: 3-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Republican Stadium in Yerevan.
Robert Lewandowski scored tripple goals
Poland dominated the first half thanks to goals from Grosicki ('2) and Lewandowski ('18, '25). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Poles further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Błaszczykowski '58, Lewandowski '64 and Wolski '89).
The result put the Pole top of Group E with 22 points. Armenia is 5th with 6 points. In their last game, Poland will meet second-placed Montenegro at the Republican Stadium on October 8, while Armenia will face Kazakhstan.
