World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Romania beats Kazakhstan 3-1
PLOIESTI, Oct. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Romania defeated Kazakhstan by a score of 3-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Ilie Oana Stadium in Ploiesti.
Budescu scored dual goals
Romania dominated the first half thanks to goals from Budescu ('33, '38 on penalty). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Romanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Keșerü in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Romanians fourth in Group E with 12 points. Kazakhstan is bottom with 2 points. In their last game, Romania will meet second-placed Denmark at the Ilie Oana Stadium on October 8, while Kazakhstan will face Armenia.
