World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Lithuania and Slovenia tied at 2-2
VILNIUS, Sep. 4, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Lithuania tied 2-2 with Slovenia (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the LFF Stadium in Vilnius.
The Lithuanians started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Černych ('32) and Slivka ('34). However, even though they were leading 2-0 at half time, they could not prevent a comeback by Slovenia with goals by Rene Krhin ('77) and Boštjan Cesar ('90).
The result left both teams tied in the second place of Group F with one point. In their next game, Slovenia will meet Slovakia at the LFF Stadium on October 8, while Lithuania will face Scotland.
