TRNAVA, Sep. 4, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : England defeated Slovakia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by English midfielder Adam Lallana in stoppage time.
The result put the English top of Group F with 3 points. In their next game, England will meet Malta at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium on October 8, while Slovakia will face Slovenia.
