LONDON, Oct. 8, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : England defeated Malta by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at Wembley Stadium.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Daniel Sturridge ('29) and Alli ('38).
The result put the English top of Group F with 6 points. Malta is bottom with no points. In their next game, England will meet third-placed Slovenia at Wembley Stadium on October 11, while Malta will face Lithuania.
