TRNAVA, Oct. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Slovakia defeated Scotland by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava.
Mak scored dual goals
Slovakia dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Mak in the 18th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Slovaks further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Mak '56 and Nemec '68).
The result put the Scot fourth in Group F with 4 points. Slovakia is 5th with 3 points. In their next game, Scotland will meet group leaders England at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium on November 11, while Slovakia will face Lithuania.
