World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : England defeats Scotland 3-0
LONDON, Nov. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : England defeated Scotland by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at Wembley Stadium.
England dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Daniel Sturridge in the 23rd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Englishs further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Lallana '50 and Cahill '61).
The result put the English top of Group F with 10 points. Scotland is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, England will meet Lithuania at Wembley Stadium on March 26, while Scotland will face Slovenia.
