World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Slovakia beats Lithuania 4-0
TRNAVA, Nov. 11, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Slovakia defeated Lithuania by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium in Trnava.
Slovakia dominated the first half thanks to goals from Nemec ('12), Kucka ('15) and Škrteľ ('36). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Slovaks further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Hamsik with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Slovak third in Group F with 6 points. Lithuania is fourth with 5 points. In their next game, Slovakia will meet Malta at the Anton Malatinsky Stadium on March 26, while Lithuania will face England.
