World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : England defeats Lithuania 2-0
LONDON, Mar. 26, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : England defeated Lithuania by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at Wembley Stadium.
England dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Jermain Defoe in the 22nd minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Englishs further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Vardy in the 66th minute.
The result put the English top of Group F with 13 points. Lithuania is fourth with 5 points. In their next game, England will meet Scotland at Wembley Stadium on June 10, while Lithuania will face Slovakia.
