TA' QALI, Sep. 1, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : England defeated Malta by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Ta' Qali National Stadium.
Harry Kane scored dual goals
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Kane ('53, '90), Bertrand ('86) and Welbeck ('90).
The result put the English top of Group F with 17 points. Malta is bottom with no points. In their next game, England will meet second-placed Slovakia at the Ta' Qali National Stadium on September 4, while Malta will face Scotland.
