World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Scotland beats Malta 2-0
GLASGOW, Sep. 4, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Scotland defeated Malta by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at Hampden Park in Glasgow.
Scotland dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by defender Christophe Berra in the 9th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Scots further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Griffiths in the 49th minute.
The result put the Scot fourth in Group F with 14 points. Malta is bottom with no points. In their next game, Scotland will meet second-placed Slovakia at Hampden Park on October 5, while Malta will face Lithuania.
