World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Albania defeats Macedonia 2-1
SHKODëR, Sep. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Albania defeated Macedonia by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday afternoon at the Loro Boriçi Stadium in Shkodër.
Albania dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by Sadiku in the 9th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Albanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Balaj with one minute left in regular time.
The result put the Albanians third in Group G with 3 points. In their next game, Albania will meet Liechtenstein at the Loro Boriçi Stadium on October 6, while Macedonia will face Israel.
