World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Albania beats Liechtenstein 2-0
VADUZ, Oct. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Albania defeated Liechtenstein by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the Rheinpark Stadion in Vaduz.
Albania dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by Jehle in the 12th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Albanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Balaj in the 71st minute.
The result put the Albanians top of Group G with 6 points. Liechtenstein is bottom with no points. In their next game, Albania will meet second-placed Spain at the Rheinpark Stadion on October 9, while Liechtenstein will face Israel.
