JERUSALEM, Oct. 9, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Israel defeated Liechtenstein by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Teddy Stadium in Jerusalem.
Tomer Hemed scored dual goals
Israel dominated the first half thanks to goals from Hemed ('4, '16). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Israelians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Israelians second in Group G with 6 points. Liechtenstein is bottom with no points. In their next game, Israel will meet group leaders Albania at the Teddy Stadium on November 12, while Liechtenstein will face Italy.
