World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Spain beats Macedonia 4-0
LEóN, Nov. 12, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Spain defeated Macedonia by a big score of 4-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes in León.
Spain dominated the first half as a result of the unfortunate own goal scored by Velkovski in the 34th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Vitolo '63, Monreal '84 and Aduriz '85).
The result put the Spaniard top of Group G with 10 points. Macedonia is 5th with no points. In their next game, Spain will meet third-placed Israel at the Estadio Nuevo Los Cármenes on March 24, while Macedonia will face Liechtenstein.
