HAIFA, Jun. 11, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Albania defeated Israel by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa.
Sadiku scored dual goals
Albania dominated the first half thanks to goals from Sadiku ('22, '44). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Albanians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Memushaj in the 71st minute.
The result put the Albanians third in Group G with 9 points. Israel is fourth with 9 points. In their next game, Albania will meet Liechtenstein at the Sammy Ofer Stadium on September 2, while Israel will face Macedonia.
