HAIFA, Sep. 2, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Macedonia defeated Israel by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Sammy Ofer Stadium in Haifa.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Pandev in the 73rd minute.
The result put the Israelians fourth in Group G with 9 points. Macedonia is 5th with 6 points. In their next game, Israel will meet second-placed Italy at the Sammy Ofer Stadium on September 5, while Macedonia will face Albania.
