MADRID, Sep. 2, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Spain defeated Italy by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium in Madrid.

Spain dominated the first half thanks to goals from [[Isco ('14, '40). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Spaniards further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Morata in the 77th minute.
The result put the Spaniard top of Group G with 19 points. Italy is second with 16 points. In their next game, Spain will meet Liechtenstein at the Santiago Bernabeu Stadium on September 5, while Italy will face Israel.
