REGGIO EMILIA, Sep. 5, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Italy defeated Israel by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore in Reggio Emilia.
45 minutes of play and neither the Italians nor the Israelians have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Italian forward Ciro Immobile in the 53rd minute.
The result put the Italians second in Group G with 19 points. Israel is fourth with 9 points. In their next game, Italy will meet Macedonia at the Mapei Stadium-Città del Tricolore on October 6, while Israel will face Liechtenstein.
