World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Belgium beats Cyprus 3-0
NICOSIA, Sep. 6, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Belgium defeated Cyprus by a score of 3-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Tuesday night at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.
Romelu Lukaku scored dual goals
Belgium dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Romelu Lukaku in the 13th minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Belgians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring twice (Lukaku '61 and Ferreira-Carrasco '81).
The result put the Belgians third in Group H with 3 points. In their next game, Belgium will meet group leaders Bosnia and Herzegovina at the GSP Stadium on October 7, while Cyprus will face Greece.
