ATHENS, Oct. 7, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Greece defeated Cyprus by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Kostas Mitroglou ('12) and Mantalos ('42).
The result put the Greek second in Group H with 6 points. Cyprus is 5th with no points. In their next game, Greece will meet Estonia at the Karaiskakis Stadium on October 10, while Cyprus will face Bosnia and Herzegovina.
