World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Belgium beats Gibraltar 6-0
FARO, Oct. 10, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Belgium defeated Gibraltar by a big score of 6-0 (halftime: 3-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Monday night at the Estádio Algarve in Faro.
Christian Benteke scored tripple goals
Belgium dominated the first half thanks to goals from Benteke ('1, '43) and Witsel ('19). Leading 3-0 at the break, the Belgians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring three times (Mertens '51, Benteke '56 and Hazard '79).
The result put the Belgians top of Group H with 9 points. Gibraltar is bottom with no points. In their next game, Belgium will meet Estonia at the Estádio Algarve on November 13, while Gibraltar will face Cyprus.
