World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Belgium defeats Estonia 8-1
BRUSSELS, Nov. 13, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Belgium defeated Estonia by a big score of 8-1 (halftime: 3-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the King Baudouin Stadium in Brussels.
Dries Mertens and Romelu Lukaku scored dual goals
Belgium dominated the first half thanks to goals from Meunier ('8), Mertens ('16) and Hazard ('25). Leading 3-1 at the break, the Belgians further widened their lead in the second period by scoring five times (Ferreira-Carrasco '62, Klavan '64/own, Mertens '68 and Lukaku '83, '88).
The result put the Belgians top of Group H with 12 points. Estonia is 5th with 3 points. In their next game, Belgium will meet second-placed Greece at the King Baudouin Stadium on March 25, while Estonia will face Cyprus.
