TALLINN, Jun. 9, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Belgium defeated Estonia by a score of 2-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the A. Le Coq Arena in Tallinn.
Belgium dominated the first half thanks to a goal scored by forward Dries Mertens in the 31st minute. Leading 1-0 at the break, the Belgians further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by Chadli with just 4 minutes remaining in regulation time.
The result put the Belgians top of Group H with 16 points. Estonia is 5th with 4 points. In their next game, Belgium will meet Gibraltar at the A. Le Coq Arena on August 31, while Estonia will face Greece.
