World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Cyprus defeats Bosnia and Herzegovina 3-2
NICOSIA, Aug. 31, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Cyprus defeated Bosnia and Herzegovina by a score of 3-2 (halftime: 0-2), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Thursday night at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.
Bosnia and Herzegovina had started off well by taking the lead thanks to goals by Šunjić ('33) and Višća ('44). Trailing 2-0 at half time, the Cypriots nonetheless manage to reverse the direction of the game by scoring three times in the second period (Christofi '65, Laban '67 and Sotiriou '76).
The result put the Bosnians third in Group H with 11 points. Cyprus is fourth with 10 points. In their next game, Bosnia and Herzegovina will meet Gibraltar at the GSP Stadium on September 3, while Cyprus will face Estonia.
