ATHENS, Sep. 3, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Belgium defeated Greece by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Karaiskakis Stadium in Athens.
45 minutes of play and neither the Belgians nor the Greeks have managed to pull ahead. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with goals by Vertonghen ('70) and Lukaku ('74).
The result put the Belgians top of Group H with 22 points. Greece is third with 13 points. In their next game, Belgium will meet second-placed Bosnia and Herzegovina at the Karaiskakis Stadium on October 7, while Greece will face Cyprus.
