NICOSIA, Oct. 7, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Greece defeated Cyprus by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-1), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Saturday night at the GSP Stadium in Nicosia.
All the action happened in the first half, with goals from Kostas Mitroglou ('25) and Alexandros Tziolis ('26).
The result put the Greek second in Group H with 16 points. Cyprus is 5th with 10 points. In their last game, Greece will meet Gibraltar at the GSP Stadium on October 10, while Cyprus will face Belgium.
