TAMPERE, Oct. 9, 2016 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Croatia defeated Finland by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 1-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Tampere Stadium.
All the action happened in the first half, with Croatian striker Mario Mandžukić goal in the 18th minute.
The result put the Croatians top of Group I with 7 points. Finland is 5th with one point. In their next game, Croatia will meet third-placed Iceland at the Tampere Stadium on November 12, while Finland will face Ukraine.
