World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Iceland beats Kosovo 2-1
SHKODëR, Mar. 24, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Iceland defeated Kosovo by a score of 2-1 (halftime: 2-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Friday night at the Loro Boriçi Stadium in Shkodër.
Iceland dominated the first half thanks to goals from Sigurðarson ('25) and Sigurðsson ('35 on penalty). Leading 2-0 at the break, the Icelanders further widened their lead in the second period with a goal by in the th minute.
The result put the Icelander second in Group I with 10 points. Kosovo is bottom with one point. In their next game, Iceland will meet group leaders Croatia at the Loro Boriçi Stadium on June 11, while Kosovo will face Turkey.
