World Cup 2018 Qualifiers : Iceland beats Croatia 1-0
REYKJAVíK, Jun. 11, 2017 (AMP) — Russia 2018 (European Qualifiers) : Iceland defeated Croatia by a score of 1-0 (halftime: 0-0), in a qualifying game for the 2018 FIFA World Cup on Sunday night at the Laugardalsvöllur in Reykjavík.
Both teams held off against each other during the first 45 minutes of the game. 0-0 at half time. Everything was settled in the second period with a saving goal by Icelandic defender Magnússon seconds before the end of regulation.
The result put the Croatians top of Group I with 13 points. Iceland is second with 13 points. In their next game, Croatia will meet Kosovo at the Laugardalsvöllur on September 2, while Iceland will face Finland.
